A Travel and Lifestyle Blog
I know Im a little late to the party here, but I have recently purchased my very first item from the Charlotte Tilbury range. I make no apologies for the amount of eye shadow palettes that I currently have, it seems to be an issue of mine that I shall seek help for immediately, (after I have bought 3 million more and it really is a problem). The palette I chose was “Uptown Girl”. A four colour palette of both nudey pinks and smokey greys
Now, I know. Iv broken the rules. Im over 25 and have bought shimmer! Quick, call the shimmer police! You know what? I love shimmer. I adore it. In fact, I add a bit of shimmer to most eye looks I do, day or evening. Yep, and Im in my 40’s……..
I know that its said that shimmer on more (ahem) mature eyes is a no-go as it emphasises any fine lines, and I get that, but I think a little is pretty. Its my crinkly eyes and I’ll shimmer if I want to hehehe.
The colours are just gorgeous! Quite hard to show the colours in a swatch but hope this gives you an idea.
So, with regards to my first impression on this palette of shimmery-ness, its a beauty. The first thing to impress me was the texture. It literally feels like silk. Soft and satiny, but not so soft it has massive fall down. The Charlotte Tilbury make up artist in John Lewis where I purchased it, told me to press the palest colour on first as a base, then build the other colours over it as required. That was the other thing that I loved. The colours are really build-able. They can be as sheer or as dramatic as you like. I wore all colours except the darkest one in the following photo. I did also use an eye primer as wrinkles plus shimmer need a primer! (please remember, Im no make up artist)
I will definitely buy more from the Charlotte Tilbury range. I already have my eye on the “Sophisticate” palette and a couple of lip pencils………..
