Nars Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzer – Review

July 11, 2017

If like me, you like to have a healthy glow to your skin without the sun damage, then you will be familiar, and probably just a little bit in love with, the Beyonce-Queen-B of the cosmetics world – bronzers.

Despite my huge (and constantly growing) make up collection, I actually don’t have that many bronzers in my stash, and the ones I do have are on the shimmery side. I have been looking for a while for a more matte bronzer to replace my almost empty Benefit Hoola, as Im not a fan of shimmery bronzers all the time. I like to mix it up a bit sometimes, (I know, I live life on the edge) and have a matt wash of colour, especially if I am planning on adding a blusher to my make up look too.

After looking at many products, reading reviews online and rubbing my fingers into more tester pots than I care to mention, the product that I eventually settled on is an offering from Nars. (full details here) Its one of their new Sun Wash Diffusing bronzers. I know. Long title right? According to the lovely people at Nars, this bronzer will give me “an enhanced complexion, with a matte wash of colour“. Sounds like a winner to me already. They also claim, it will “sweep over my skin and warm my visage“, no idea what that means, but a warmed visage must be a good thing right?! I blooming love product marketing write up’s do you……. 🙂

So, marketing blurb aside, I actually love this bronzer. I bought it in the shade Laguna, which seemed just the right amount of warmth for my colouring. Although I do currently have some colour to my face, (and my freckles are all joining up nicely), I like to apply a sweep of colour over my cheekbones, around my hairline and slightly along my jaw. It just lifts, warms and defines my face a bit. If you read about my secret summer make up item (post can be read here) you can imagine this, just dusted over my custom made base is my light-sunkissed-perfection!

Im also really enjoying how this bronzer has a slight light reflecting quality to it. Although it is a matte product, it has what Nars have called “soft blurring technology” which offers an almost luminous edge to it, no sparkle or shimmer at all, just a soft reflection of light, creating a soft focus type effect. Its really nice. It makes my skin look healthy.

Another plus for this product in my opinion, is the size. Its 8g, which is the same size as Hoola, but as its in rectangle packaging, its so much easier to get a big ole bronzing brush in there. I really like that. The mirror in the lid is also a really good size, so I have been keeping this in my handbag and use it as my compact as well as being able to top my bronzer up if needed. Another tick in the bonus box!

I would recommend this bronzer a million percent if you like your visage warmed, your sweep of colour matte and your skin blurred………

Id recommend it a million and one percent if you just like a blooming good matte bronzer !

Id love to know if you have found any fab bronzers that you would recommend? Feel free to leave me suggestions. Im always happy to shop for more make up!

HiHi there, of course, I have a huge brush collection, I can help lol xx The one I use for my bronzer is the Real Techniques powder brush (you can get them in Boots or Superdrug) The Eco brushes are also good. You can also get Crown brushes online, that are very reasonable and really great quality. I use Crown and Real Tecniques the most and they are both amazing brands of brushes and dont hit the wallet too hard. I hope that helps xxxx
