A Travel and Lifestyle Blog
I haven’t done an empties post for a little while, because, to be honest, I got a bit bored of writing them! So, I thought instead of doing a monthly empties, I would do one every now and again. Sound ok with you? Lets crack on..
I have so many skincare products to try at the moment. I have a basket in my bathroom, that I pop any samples or gifted items that I receive in, ready to try. The items I have used up lately are mainly my usual products, as I like to only use one new product at a time. How would I know what item was the culprit if I reacted to a product, if Im trying a few at a time. Makes sense eh? Anyway, I digress. My empties……
Bobbi Brown eye make up remover Full details here
I. Love. This. Thats it, lets leave it there….. Its just a blooming great remover. There is no rubbing or tugging, it just melts your make up off. Even my Urban Decay stay put mascara, gone! It does what it says on the tin, lasts forever and no stinging, something that I tend to get with my sensitive eyeballs. Love it, will be re-purchasing asap.
Environ AVST 5 moisturiser
My usual moisturiser, that I have used for about 8 years. If you don’t know anything about Environ, in a nutshell, its a results driven, cosmeceutical range, distributed by the International Institute of Anti Ageing (IIAA). The range has a “step up” programme, so you start at AVST 1 and work through the steps. Its powerful stuff, based on vitamin A, which we all know is a wonder vitamin in the skincare stakes. Its an amazing range. You can read more about the range here if you would like to know more.
Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Full details here
The ole faithful. The staple in many a beauty bloggers product cupboard. Its a great cleanser, and I love the smell of it! Im not a huge fan of the cloth if I am honest, and prefer to use a face cloth as the muslin cloth feels a little harsh to me. I do love this cleanser though. I wont be re-purchasing at this stage, as I have a few cleansers that I want to try, but its a lovely gentle cleanser that I would recommend anyone trying.
Environ Youth EssentiaA Eye gel
I will never not use this eye gel. Big statement eh? I know. Im bold like that. I just know the difference that it makes to my eye area. It packs one hell of a punch in the hydration stakes, and again, whacks on the vitamin A. If I do not use this eye gel for a couple of days, I truly notice it in my hydration levels. Ok. I think you get it. Its my eye weapon of choice and I will love it forever.
Rodial Dragons Blood Sculpting Gel Full details here
I got this little bottle of moisturiser in my Marks and Spencer Advent calendar. Its also my first experience of any items from the Rodial brand. I totally fell in love with the texture of it. I used this for about two weeks as my daytime moisturiser, and found that it hydrated very nicely thank you very much. It has a really light, non sticky texture, that I found really nice under my tinted moisturiser. I would re-purchase, to be used as a lovely daytime moisturiser.
Im still working my way through the stash of body products in my bathroom. Im doing well!
Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Seasonal product
This little pot of amazingness has been featured on my blog before. I just adore it as my body moisturiser in the summer months. Its about the third year running that I have bought it. Its a generous sized pot, and It has lasted until November, a little goes a long way. Its a lightweight, non-sticky body butter, with a scent of pure summer! However, sadly, I wont be repurchasing this again. The reason being, its a brand that is not cruelty free, and as I am trying to convert all my products I buy to cruelty free only, it will not be on my re-buy list.
Laura Mercier Body Butter in Ambre Vanille Full details here
I absolutely love this body butter. It has been a favourite product of mine for many years, and I use the bubble bath too in the same fragrance. The pot is a generous size, and again, a little goes a long way, so it lasts forever. I often use this as my daytime body moisturiser, and its rich scent means that I don’t wear perfume with it. I always get a compliment on the scent. Its gorgeous, wonderfully hydrating and just bloody delicious.
Seychelles hand cream from The White Company Full details here
I cannot recommend the hand creams from The White Company enough. I really struggle with dry hands, in my job I wash my hands a gazillion times a day, so they dry out constantly. I have a stable of hand creams in my cupboard, but the one I find most effective is my White Company one. It hydrates my hands instantly, but I still find them soft and hydrated in the morning. A brilliant product. A definite on my repurchase list.
Lady Million Perfume Full details here
I would be embarrassed to show you my perfume collection. It is huge. I have a husband that is incredibly generous, and often comes home with a new perfume for me. I have built up quite a little stash, so he is now on a buying ban until I have used a few up. I have been using this one, Lady Million, as my daytime perfume, and have finally finished it. I really like it, although probably wouldn’t purchase again at this stage. I have a few more to get through! Its a lovely scent though, definitely worth a look.
Radox Feel Pampered and Badedas Original
Both of these bubble baths are your standard, drugstore products, and both do exactly as they say on the tin. The Radox ones I always find great value for money, often just £1, and they give lots of bubbles. I always tend to have one of these in the cupboard.
The Badedas one reminds me of my younger years. It was the first bubble bath that I bought that felt very decadent, as it was more money than my usual ones. It has a clean, fresh scent that leaves you feeling exactly that, fresh and clean. Both great items that I would re-buy.
The White Company bubble bath in Flowers Full details here
I always think that these bubble baths look pretty on your bathroom side. I feel all fancy having one. The little glass bottle, complete with glass stopper makes it quite luxurious. The bubble bath itself is lovely. It produces tons of tiny little bubbles, all scented and hydrating. This particular fragrance is a blend of floral and neroli, so it isn’t too flowery. Im not a fan of floral scents, but this one is made a bit more sophisticated with the neroli. Iv had a few of these bubble baths, various fragrances, and I would re-purchase. They give a little touch of luxury to my bath time and I love it!
The biggest bane of my life. Finding hair care that suits my wayward, crazy hair!
On any given day, my hair is probably 90% dry shampoo. I hate washing my hair. I hate drying my hair. So I tend to wash it as little as I can get away with. That is the joy of having long hair. Dry shampoo, a hair band and a job that requires my hair to be tied up makes Kerry a happy wild haired woman. I tend to buy whatever dry shampoo is on offer, and the CoLab Candy dry shampoo is probably my favourite fragrance. I have to say though, good ole Batiste dry shampoo tends to suit my hair the best. It gives me some texture, fresh looking and easier to manage hair. Its my favourite so far, although I would re-purchase any of the above if they were on offer.
Charles Worthington Conditioner Full details here
I liked this. I don’t condition my hair every time I wash it, as my hair can be a bit greasy, and I find conditioning it too much makes it worse. This was very lightweight, and seemed to suit my hair. I only apply to the ends, and it makes my frizzy hair easier to manage. I would rebuy.
Loreal Botanicals Smooth Ritual Full details here
I bought this as it said it was for unruly hair. Put those words on a haircare product, and you will get my money. Sadly, in this case, it didn’t suit my hair. It made my hair flat and lifeless, and I wasn’t a huge fan of the scent (is it bad to say it reminded me of wet dog)?? My son actually finished the bottle, and he thought it was fab so it was definitely just my temperamental hair that it didn’t suit. Another hair care fail for me!
Charles Worthington Leave In Conditioner. Full details here
This product suited my hair down to the ground. I used it as a detangler when I did wash my hair, and it was brilliant. It made my hair easier to manage, easier to get a brush through, and seemed to tame it for a few days. Its so rare to find something that suits my hair, I will be popping this in my basket when in Boots next. A great, lightweight leave in conditioner.
Well, thats it! My empties all done and dusted. have you tried any of these items? I would love to know if they have worked for you. I am always open to suggestions for haircare and decadant bath products. Can never get enough of them….
Let me know xx
