My Current Favourite Lip Colours – All Cruelty Free

Its no news to you guys that I love a nude lip. Its my go to most of the time, as I really like a natural look to my make up. However, I also like quite a bold lip with minimal eye make up in the summer! I know, Im a fickle soul! I wanted to share with you in this post some beautiful lip colours I have discovered recently, as well as a couple of new brands! These are my current favourite lip colours, and what I am reaching for on a daily basis.

Tarte Tartiest Lip Paint – In colour Rosy Nude

Tarte is a new brand to me, and one I discovered after being introduced to their eyeshadow palettes via various bloggers. I absolutely adore this colour, and always get compliments on it when I wear it. My preferred look with this is a natural base, a neutral eye shadow, lots of mascara. Very natural eye make up so that the lip does the talking! (literally). These lip paints are a matte finish, and stay put pretty well! I get about 5 hours of wear on average, before I need to top up. Tarte is a cruelty free brand, and I ordered mine direct from America. My order took about a week to come, and you don’t have to pay import as its all done at source. Easy peasy! I will share more from my order in another post xx These lip paints come in at £17 and you can have a nose at them all here.

Kiko Unlimited Double Touch Longwear paint in the colour number 118 Orchid

This is a striking pink, and so bold for me but I love it! I bought it originally to wear with the cerise pink dress I wore to my brothers wedding back in April, but didn’t wear it on the day as it was pink overload! I wore the (Green People one in the end). This stays put for ever! I have to literally use my strongest eye make up remover to get it off at the end, which is fab that it lasts so well. You apply the colour from one end, let it dry for a minute, then apply the clear, lock in top coat from the other end. Once dry, it stays put! There is a huge colour range to this lippy, so you are bound to find  colour that you love. I always find the Kiko products really reasonably priced, and at £8.90 these are no exception. You can see them here.

**Green People Velvet Matte lipstick in Damask Rose plus Lip Primer

This lip colour is my favourite nude at the moment, hands down. It is one of the most comfortable lipsticks to wear that I own. I just love it! Green people have a beautiful ethos to their brand, and I love everything that they stand for. Their aim is to create natural and organic products, and was born from a mothers desire to help her child that had multiple skin allergies. I love a brand that has a real heart behind it. Green People saw that I was on a quest to discover new cruelty free brands, so kindly got in touch to send me one of their lip products. This lip colour is more of a semi matte than flat matte, which I prefer. The colour is a beautiful nude/rose, and as it is formulated with organic beeswax, it does not dry my lips out in anyway. I love it, and the colour is perfect for my skin tone. Price is £16.50 and you can see them here.

I also have the lip primer from Green People. This primer is applied a few minutes before your lip colour, to moisturise your lips and really lock in the colour. I really suffer with dry lips, and have often asked you lovely lot for balm recommendations over on my Instagram stories. Well I have to say, this is fantastic at keeping my lips hydrated, and I have been using it under all of my lipsticks lately. Its brilliant.

Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lip in the colour Pastel Petal

I really have come to love the make up from Pixi by Petra, since discovering their long wear eye liner last year. There long wear lip paints are amongst the most comfortable to wear, and the formula is non-drying. The colour I bought is a neutral rose colour, but much stronger than a nude. It has a definite colour if that makes sense. I really like the size of these too as often, they lip paints are on a longer tube. These are the size of a normal lipstick so easy to chuck in your bag. I also find the applicator fantastic. Its like a doe foot applicator, but you can achieve quite a distinctive line with it. It makes applying my lippy easy and I like easy! Priced at £16, they are fairly expensive but the longevity I feel makes them worth it. You can see the full colour range here

Jane Iredale PlayOn Lip Crayon – In colour Luscious

These lip colours are a little different, as they come in a chunky lip pencil style. The formula is incredibly creamy, not like you would expect a lip pencil to feel like. The colour is very pigmented, and lasts well. I love these lip formulas as they are so easy to apply, being a lip pencil, and you can have the finish as a semi-matte, or pop a tiny bit of balm over and they become a rich, shiny lip colour. This colour is a pinky red, and I really enjoy wearing it. Its one of those colours that makes your teeth look whiter. Bonus! There are on the mid range scale price wise, but at £15, I think they are worth it for the colour pay off and formula. One of my faves! Again, i have linked them here for you to see.

So, thats it! My picks of my current favourite lipsticks. Im bold eh! Bet you didn’t think you would see me in kiss me quick colours haha! Oh and just incase your interested, theTare one smells of mint, the Kiko one vanilla and the Pixi one fruit! Go figure!  Do you have a current lip colour favourite? Do you find you get bolder/nuder as the seasons change? What is your current favourite make up look? As ever, let me know, you know I love make up talk!

Thank you for reading! I made concerted effort at the start of this year to try to swap over to all cruelty free. As I go along its been so surprising which brands are not cruelty free that I thought were! They are my favourite colours at the moment xx

Ooh there’s always room for another lippy in my make-up bag and I’m loving the look of Kiko Orchid. I recently bought a couple of Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks from your recommendation and was very pleased with them so I shall give the Kiko brand a try.

I love the look of that Kiko lip paint. I go through phases with lip colours.I either want to live in red, or I want my lip completely natural and nude. A bright lip does look gorgeous in summer though right! I’m not surprised you like the lip primer from Green People. I’m using their deodrant and mist spray, and they are both really good! xx

I love Jane Iredale products. I like the nude toned lipsticks too so I will have a look at this.
I’ve been using Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream on my lips for over twenty years at night time! Not a dry lip in sight, but don’t expect a kiss goodnight off the other half! xx

I love that you’re sharing cruelty free brands, not enough people do. I think Green People is going to be my new favourite brand! I’ll have to get their lip primer, I too suffer with really dry lips and cannot find anything to hydrate them!

Im the same, a lot of lip balms just sit on the surface of my lips. I think that slowly, the tide is turning and people are becoming more mindful in their buying. Im all over that! I have found the last two years I have become much more mindful in all of my shopping. We can all do our bit eh! Thanks for reading x
