A Life and Travel Blog for the over 30's
I don’t know about you, but anything that makes my life easier, I am all over like a rash. I like a simple, easier life. I wanted to share this one with you, as I think its not only a great money saving tip, but just blooming useful also!
Although I do not ever put my face directly in the sun, I do catch the sun very easily, so my face can tan without any effort. Just walking about on a sunny day can mean my freckles come out in force and my skin darkens.
Like most people, my foundations I buy are always colour matched to my paler days, so can be a little too pale when I have a bit of colour. Despite me needing very little excuse to go and shop for make up, I don’t really want to go out and buy new foundation for the relatively few sun kissed days that my face/complexion enjoys.
Enter stage left, the Body Shop Honey bronze drops of Sun.
I discovered these little drops of sunshine about two summer’s ago, and they have become a staple in my summer make up bag since. Simple to use, you just mix the desired amount of drops into your foundation, and voila! You have a foundation that better matches your tanned skin. Genius eh?!
I tend to pop a bit of my usual foundation onto a make up pallet, drop in two drops of the Honey Bronze, and mix with cotton bud or concealer brush. You can add more or less of the drops, depending on how dark you want it to go. The bottle even comes with a little pipette, so makes it super easy to use.
I find that this product see’s me through those days when my colour has lifted, but I still want some coverage. If I have been on holiday and have a darker colour to my face, I tend to go foundation-less, so this is a great tool for those in-between times. Just as fabulous, I have not found that adding the drops make any changes the staying power of my foundations either, no difference at all. You can also mix it with a little bit of your moisturiser, to give you a warmer, sunnier glow to your skin. It really is a versatile little fella!
Its a great addition to your make up bag ladies. Go and have a try of it x
Side note – I wanted to show you a photo of the foundation in-situ on my face, (I know, brave for me) but, and dont laugh, I have bought myself a tripod so I can take make up photos – cant figure out how the blooming hell I use it!
Yep, I am still a numpty when it comes to technical shiz!
