An Authentic Lifestyle and Travel Blog
I have been an avid blog reader for years, loooonnnnnng before I even thought about writing my own. I just love reading all the different reviews and opinions on products and how people use them, I love seeing little snippets of peoples lives, and I have recently discovered a love of interiors blogs. Anyway, I digress….
When I am reading a blog and a product or item catches my eye, I write the details down in my little red book that I keep on my desk. I try not to impulse buy or get caught up in the hype of a new launch etc, so I will see if I still fancy it in a month or so, and then either use the affiliate link if the blogger has one on their site, or perhaps pick it up on my next shopping trip if they dont. We gotta support our blogging buds! (My newly learnt resistance by the way is as a result of my self imposed make up buying ban). Ever since my no spend make up month, I have shown more will power and you can read more about in this post if you feel the need, My No Make Up Buying Month – What it Taught Me
I thought I would share with you some of the items that the blogging world has convinced me that I need in my life, and introduce you to the ladies that introduced me to them. x
The Item – Tanya Burr Peachy Glow Palette – £8 see it here
The Blogger who made me buy it – Delyth at Highstreet Beauty
I will be totally upfront here. As much as I greatly admire Tanya and her amazing achievements, I always thought that her make up range was for the youngsters. Lots of sparkly, shimmery products and cute packaging, I never imagined it would be a range I would buy. Well that changed when I saw my fabulous blogging buddy Delyth (and my first “proper” blogging bud ever made) review it in part of her favourite blusher post. It just looked so pretty and wearable. When I was in Superdrug I saw the range, and as its so reasonably priced, thought I would pick it up to give it a whirl. I really like it. The bronzer is surprisingly soft and natural looking. A winner!
The Item – Bobby Brown Brightening Blush in Pink Truffle (sorry, no longer available, but similar here)
The Blogger who made me buy it – Pixiwoo The first blog I ever read religiously was Pixiwoo, and I still read every post they publish
I wrote a full review on this product, as I loved it so much, you can read it here. I love that it is a little differant from the normal blushers I buy in both colour and concept. It is a soft taupy, pinky beige, with a strip of highlighter and soft, light diffusing powder to really lift the complexion and add a healthy glow. I use it a lot, especially when doing a natural look make up. Bobbi Brown products are usually pretty reliable to be honest. Sam and Nic were also the reason that my love affair with the Real Techniques brushes started. I loved that these two trusted make up artists had helped design them, and used them in their own work. I have pretty much the entire brush collection, (Im exaggerating, but I do have lots) and they are fab brushes. You can see the full range here if you are in the market for new brushes.

The Item – Percy and Reed overnight hair miracle £20 see it here
The Blogger who made me buy it – Katherine from Blogs Of a Shopoholic
My hair drama and issues are very well documented. If you follow me on my Instagram Stories, you may have been frightened on more than one occasion by the mane of frizz that is my hair. I am in constant battle to try to find something to tame it. When Katherine tweeted about her finds from Percy and Reed, and how pleased with the items from the brand she was, I decided to go and check them out myself, and decided on the Overnight Hair Miracle. I have applied it a couple of times overnight, and it does make my hair easier to handle. I will reserve judgement on wether it is the cure I have been looking for, until I have tried it more, but so far so good.

The Item – Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer £8.99 see it here
The Blogger who made me buy it – Fleur De Force
Like Pixiwoo, Fleur De Force was one of the very first blogs that I followed religiously when I fell in love with reading blogs. When she recommended this concealer on her Youtube channel, I decided to give it a go as I usually like the products Fleur suggests for her skin, I think we have a similar skin type so they usually suit me. This concealer has been my go to concealer ever since. I just love it. The formulation is light and blendable, and covers any redness that I have around my nose and chin. I think I am on my 4th one of these, unheard of with me!

The Item – Charlotte Tilbury Uptown Girl Palette £39 see it here
The Blogger who made me buy it – Really Ree
Again, this was another product I loved so much that I did a full review on it. You can read it here. It was the first product that I had ever bought from Charlotte Tilbury, and I bought it after seeing a few things from the brand on Ree’s blog, although it took me about a year to actually get to visiting the counter in John Lewis. There are so many beautiful palettes in this quad range, and I swear I took about an hour to decide on the one I wanted. I have taken to wearing one of the colours from this palette, (the second row, left hand side) on an almost daily basis, with just a slick of black eyeliner and mascara. All four are gorgeous colours and I will be back for another of these, The Sophisticate has caught my eye……

The Item – YSL Rouge Volupte Lipsticks See them here
The Blogger who made me buy it – Milly Niomi (formerley Pearls and Poodles)
I fell in love with these lippies after Milly showcased these on a regular basis on her blog many moons ago. She was talking about how beautiful the packaging is, and I was lured in. They are such a gorgeous lipstick in texture and colour payoff, and the packaging is just so feminine and pretty. I have bought two of these so far, but will definitely be adding more. they make me feel so fancy!

I must also add here the person behind my purchase of my first Kiko Mascara was Steph from Priceless Life Of Mine. I mentioned that it was totally her fault in this post here Kiko Haul – First Impressions
I also need to say that Victoria from InTheFrow was solely responsible for my purchase of the Dior Pump N Volume mascara, you can read a full review here
It was all their faults, I cannot be held responsible……….. 🙂
I’m glad it’s not just me that gives into blogger temptation. That Tanya Burr palette looks so good as well, I’ve never thought about using her products xx
I know Grace, its just so tempting isnt it. I was exactly the same regarding the Tanya Burr products, but Im really impressed x
I read your posts, but don’t always have a comment for you. Is there a reason not to have a “like” button? It is a way for us to let you know we read it, but just don’t have a comment. Just curious.
